The Dirty Half Course:

The course starts by the Sandia Tramway and finsihes at County Line BBQ. The course is an out and back with a loop turnaround on the U.S. Forest Service trail area of the Sandia Foothills with beautiful views if you have the ability to look around. The trail is mostly single track with plenty of double track and opportunities to pass with a handful of small technical sections. The course has a net gain of approximately 1,000 feet in elevation and it drops more than gains. Although not an extreme course it is challenging and the last mile will definitely be faster than the first mile! It follows trail 365, drops to the West for a turnaround an back East along trail 305 in a loop that reconnects back to trail 365 again. The last part you will follow the roads, along Cedar Hill, Juniper Hill and Tramway Rd into the finish at County Line BBQ. The course is well marked, and we have volunteers along the course.

Details: Course map (jpg), (pdf)

Elevation Gain: 985 ft
Elevation Loss: 1,412 ft

The Dirty 10 course:

The course is an out and back 6.2 miles on the Dirty Half Trail course in the Sandia Foothills, same description applies – except shorter. The turn around is slightly before mile 3 on the half marathon course map. The turnaround is before you reach the Elena Gallegos access road (Simms Parks road). We have volunteers and signs at the turnaround - please keep your eyes open.
