Athletic & Personal Information:
Starting as a long distance runner with Gahanna Lincoln Middle school in 1976, going on to run Ohio High School Cross Country State Championships in 1978 led to a lifelong passion for running and endurance athletics.
Now professionally coaching runners, cyclists, swimmers and triathletes along with a lifetime of competition, I work with junior beginners through Ironman Worlds qualifiers and Elite Professionals on the ITU Worlds Circuit. I enjoy helping all to achieve and succeed at the goals they desire. By coaching individuals, promoting local clubs for juniors and seniors, and promoting local race events I strive to encourage amateur through expert athlete participation in our community.
As a member of Team USA, I am ranked as one of the top master triathletes in the United States, placing 2nd for the United States & 17th overall in 45-49 AG at World Long Course Championships in Lorient, France in 2007. I qualified for Team USA in 2009 at Triathlon World Championships (Long Course) in Perth, Australia. 2011 brought another World Championship slot for Xterra off-road triathlon in Maui, placing 19th of 70 athletes in my category.
From 2008 through 2012 I have backed off training & racing, as I focus on my college education in Exercise Physiology & Sport Administration. During my education I will be continuing my certifications and conferences with US & Foreign Coaching Federations, while coaching athletes part-time. I continue to strive to be one of the top endurance coaches in the United States.
