HOPE, LOSS, AND BICYCLES IN ZAMBIA

By John Larson, NBC News Correspondent

CHIBOMBO, Zambia – For whatever reason, it is considered improper for journalists to cry.  We are supposed to remain detached, and act as if we’ve seen worse.  That’s why, when tears do come, we often walk away or bury ourselves in notes.  It is, I believe, one of our greater failings.

After seeing what we had seen in Zambia, I was surprised anything would get me going, but I wasn’t prepared for the littlest grave.

2008 Tammy Run Results

Polar Bear Tri Results (2007)

Listed are the results provided at the day of the race. Scanned in and cleaned up.

2007 ITU Long Course Championships

Lorient, France, home of the ITU Long Course World Championships. . .I could write a few pages on this town, along with the rest of coastal France & my trip to Paris after. But hey -it's a race report- let's get to the action .

Ride Around the Mountain - The Lonnnng version

Another Saturday ride with the UNM Tri team, Tri Sport and anyone else who felt like showing up. We had a few beginners -- first time on a road ride, first time in clipless pedals and so on. So I came up with a really fun ride plan that would start easy, get progressively harder as we went and allow for the 2-3 different skill level riders to customize their ride by just turning around at certain points.
